Switch Problems

Good Evening

I have Telkom ASDL with one of their routers.

My WIFI work 100% but when I connect a switch to it i get the message that the pc can not obtain a valid IP address. It used to work but the one day i started to get the message. I have a 16way switch and bought a 5 way to check if the switch is not broken. DHCP are on on the router. When I connect a cable direct to the router every thing work.

Please help

Did the new switch work or not?
Try plugging the router into port 1 of the old switch.
