I got the speed upgrade, gone from 10 to 20. With ADSL2+ after the upgrade my line only synced at 15 with snr at 6.2 up and down.

Today I got a VDSL router and got telkom to change the modulation to VDSL. I can see that it is in fact on VDSL now, but still syncing at 15 with the snr still at 6.2 up and down. Nothing changed. Isnt VDSL supposed to improve things? Is there something I misunderstood?

EDIT: Oh, and ping doubled

I dont have a screenshot of what the stats looked like on ADSL2+ after the upgrade, but here's a screenshot of the stats before the upgrade and what it looks like now on VDSL2

You are a bit far from the exchange and 20Mbps is pushing it a bit.

Might think about logging a fault to see if they can improve the levels but I think that is about the max.

I don't see VDSL2 though are you sure you are on VDSL2 mode though?

Interleave would be the reason for increase in latency

I'm curious to know. Would it be possible to request that Interleaving be disabled in favour of Fast Path?

I've heard a lot of conflicting statements in this regard.

I switched to fibre on Frogfoot last year and regret it daily. Line speeds are good, but they have issues daily. Telkom ADSL was inherently stable compared to this.

Very possible. By default it will be shifted on Interleaved but you can request for that to be removed.
