Switching off international bandwidth??

I have a 5gig account with Telkom.

I want to download a product from the Playstation Network (hosted locally ) using my local bandwith, although I still have 3gigs international bandwith remaining.

How do I go about "switching off" my international bandwidth solely for the purposes of this one download?

You could buy a split-billed account from SAINET. Then you will use local cap for local downloads and international cap for international downloads.

There is no way to do this with a Telkom account.

Or you can buy like a 10GB (R70) or 30GB (R131) prepaid IS Local only accounts from WebAfrica/OpenWeb and use either a router or software (like RouteSentry or Traffic Splitter) to route the local & international traffic through the correct accounts.
If you can manage to keep the IS local only connection connected at all times, then you can actually get quite a lot of international cap from it too. My best was 32.8GB of international downloads on the IS 30GB local only account

There's a trick with the Telkom DSL accounts too. I haven't tried it, since I don't have a Telkom account, but I've heard quite a few people mentioning it...
Right before the end of the month, you deplete your international cap, reboot the router so that you get a different IP address with only local cap.
Then you keep that local only connection open.
In the new month, you dial a 2nd connection to the same Telkom account, which will give you international access.
Now you can either use a router or software to split the traffic, as long as the local only connection remain connected! You'll notice the different IP addresses on the local only and blended accounts!

What Pada says is correct, I use 2 connections to Telkom at the beginning of every month. It's all good while your connection is up, but once it drops, (depends on how stable your line is, my 4 Mbps gets 3-14 days uptime, my 384 kbps got 14-50 days) your "local connection" is lost. Local connections are assigned 165.... IPs, and blended connections 41.... IPs. I use a Mikrotik to do the dialling and the routing. Towards the end of the month I finish off my blended cap and restore a local connection, and get the Mikrotik to send all international traffic to an Axxess account (only R 19 for a gig). Rinse, repeat.

Off topic: My 5 gig cap was used up before the end of the month, every month, just through normal use. 5 gigs just isn't enough any more, if Telkom hadn't increased the cap to 9 gigs, I'd have pushed by Axxess account up to 2 or even 3 gigs.
