Hi there,

I have a Telkom Router (the white one). How do I switch off the NAT function on that thing???? I have 3 other routers which have a "disable" function. The Telkom one does not seem to have that??

Tks

I have the 4 port ethernet router from telkom and I think yours should work in the same way to mine.
Type the ip address of your router in command line in your web browser and hit enter. You will be prompted to type a password in,you should find this on your router box.Once logged in you will see NAT on the left hand side of the screen, click on it and a new screen will open.On the NAT config. page there is a drop down menu, click it and select 'disabled'.Then click save settings on the left hand side of the screen and then submit on right hand screen.
Your router will be reset and the new settings saved. ;)

Hi Beeti,

That's the thing, this stupid Telkom router does not seem to have any disable/enable option...........????? Or I am blind.

Well just double check,in the NAT Configuration window, the first drop down menu should contain "Disabled,NAT,NAPT,Dynamic NAPT".Mine is set to Dynamic NAPT and I presume setting it to 'Disabled' will solve your problem.Let me know if you still cant find anything.

Hi Beeti.

Your router is obviously quite a bit different from mine. There are no drop down windows in the router menu of mine.....It's not that I have no clue where to go, I work with those things a lot and all my other routers are easy as pie. I inherited this bloody telkom thing and it's driving me nuts

Ok, it's official, just had it confirmed byt Marconi : You cannot switch off the NAT function on that router. Unbelievable but true it seems..........

Eish.. at that price it should have that function.
