Sybaritic Experiences

Raumas, I've bought stuff from them before without any problems.... was a while ago, but they are legit and I was very happy with them back then.
 
Yes, they have good prices, only problem is once they've sold you the stuff it's impossible to get any service afterward. I've had several instances where they refused to replace wrong or faulty goods. Some of their sales people are also extremely rude and arrogant. I suggest you go check out Hellopeter for examples of all the complaints against them.
 
Same problem. Had a GFX card die on me, took it back and the guy didn't reply to my emails and calls. Only when I sent him a written request as required for small claims court summons did he respond. Went something along the lines, of bla bla bla replace bla bla, or I will sue your ass. (abridged version).
 
No problems with Sybaritic at all. Always had fantastic service as well as aftersales service. If you do experience any problems they are quite accommodating on their forum, from what I've seen, but I've never had any problems myself.

Had once an issue with a router, but it got solved and I got a new one. I've been buying stuff from them for more than 2 years. Good prices.

Bought from them on numerous occasions. I can advice that if you have to return anything, without any problems/defects, 15% of the item(s) value is taken of what is given the form of store credit. The way they treat their customers before/after sales is quite mixed I must say.
 
Great if you don't need to return anything. Otherwise be prepared to wait...
 
I buy from them as well but recently starting to worry a bit as they changed something in their process.
A friend of mine they couldn't supply his order after paying and now they are offering alternatives.
I ordered something on Thursday and for the first time ever they didn't order it the next day or provide feedback when I would expect it which always was something they were very good at.

The problem with IT online stores is that they offer a wider range of stock but have to order them from distributors and suppliers
In South African you order and pay first and can wait months if the online store has a communication issue with the supplier. Digital planet and less well know online stores in SA are notorious for this.
Sybaritic was one store that from experience has managed this well as they clearly state on their site what they can supply and what items you have to wait for ie. you order only when their suppliers can supply.

When you use to order with Sybaritic they would also double check if the supplier can supply it ie. confirm your order so you don't pay for something they cannot supply immediately.
However it seems just recently they have changed their system so the second check seem to have fallen away so they don't manage it as well anymore unfortunately.
 
To be perfectly fair to Sybaritic, a lot of delays on returns are the fault of the supplier, not Sybaritic themselves.

No I don't honestly think that is always the case. I took a GFX card back, one month later after numerous emails and calls to which I never got any concrete reply. Then I send him a email saying it is his final warning, my demands and that I intend to take the case to the small claims court, suddenly a few hours later I get a email saying the supplier no longer sells those GFX cards, so I can get credit to buy something else.

Took him a month to get that reply from the supplier? Then suddenly he gets a reply a few hours after I take the first step toward legal action. Highly unlikely.

Haven't bought there again, don't plan on buying there again.

That's not really the consumers problem. The manner of which these situation are dealt with shows how good an online store really is.

My first and last order with them was when I ordered parts for my new PC (quite a large order, about 5.5k worth). Placed the order, they confirmed stock and I payed. A few days later, I received a message that the supplier didn't have stock of one of the items, even though they confirmed stock before I payed. They said it would take a week to get it, so I decided to wait. After a week, they said it would be a few more days. Two weeks later (three weeks after ordering), I eventually received my stuff.

They could have just been honest and said that it would take some time to source the part, but they obviously didn't want to lose the whole order.

I'll stick to DA and Prophecy from now on.

Or conceivably their supplier TOLD them that they had stock until they actually placed the order, then gave them an ETA which ended up being inaccurate. Not the consumer's problem, but not really Sybaritic's fault either.
 
I've had mixed experiences with Sybaritic.

Their prices are good and such... but the experiences haven't been stellar so I more than likely won't be buying fom them again.

They seems they don't have any acknowledgement of the posts here on MyBB, or they seem not to really care much about what people say.
