thunderbird has 2 accounts
1-webmail and 2-gmail
sygate is set to allow thunderbird up and download traffic.
When i check my mail i will only get my gmail messages but webmail messages will not come through.
When i set sygate to allow all traffic webmail works...wtf cause i allowed thunderbird full access in sygate.
I checked the sygate logs and i cant see anything wrong. So what would the solution be?

Off topic, but I would suggest looking at a newer firewall. Sygate was bought out years ago, and great firewall that it was, it's a bit long in the tooth now.

As for your problem, it seems that Sygate is blocking access to the Webmail server for some reason. Pity the logs don't say more.

could nod32 have an effect on this

FWIW, I had the firewall version of ESET NOD32 installed a few years back and it gave me surfing problems. I couldn't connect to any website. As soon as I took it off, it worked. My advice is to get only the anti-virus version of NOD32, which is my current setup with a separate firewall.
