Hi there, has anyone else been frustrated by the decision to suspend self-signing of applications and such on symbiansigned.com?

Does anyone know a way around it? For those that aren't up to speed symbian signed is where you'd go to sign your 'freeware' applications and other homebrew stuff that your mobile phone would not ordinarily allow you to install without a certificate. Recently this service has been suspended it seems and I cannot manage to get any of my stuff working. Does anyone know a way around this?

I've stumbled upon Open Signed Online which is in a beta phase and can be found here: https://www.symbiansigned.com/app/page/public/openSignedOnline.do (please inform me if this link works for you) but I cannot upload any sis files for signing as I keep getting an error: Invalid Email address format. I have tried both my cybersmart and gmail accounts so i'm not sure exactly what the problem is. I read this segment: "i.e. if the email address you use for Open Signed Online MUST match the email address of the account which created a UID." so i'm not sure if it maybe has something to do with that.

Any information or comment would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards
Nokoff

yeh, I feel your pain..I found around it by googling for "what-you-looking-for-s60v3" or "what-you-are-looking-for-BINPDA" or "what-you-are-looking-for-sisx"..please note that U might not find ilegal software like this..U might also encounter software which reads "certificate expired"..all u do then is minimise your browser set back your time by a year or two(just untill its installed). I know if U can also change the sis files to sisx by some method..but not to much of an programmer. hope this helps..but please dont use this for illegal purposes :p

Open Signed Online works 100% for me, is your email address (the cybersmart one) a "real" address? I mean is it a registered domain, or a free provider, like gmail or hotmail?

Sorry, i was wrong, it has nothing to do with the email address. It has to do with the UID which the developer uses in the app. If (s)he uses a dev UID, you can only sign it if your address matches the UID in the app - i.e. if you have the dev's email address.

If the dev uses what is known as a "test" UID, then it will be signed regardless of the email address. Some do, some don't, only way to know is to try it.
