just wondering,
i ordered a 10mbps line but stuck on 6144
does telkom says that speed or does it autometicly set it to it

like say i get a new router and it makes my SNR better that may allow faster speed
will it auto go up to eg.8mbps

or do i need to phone telkom for that?

edid: does the tp link 8970 have SNR stabilizing? i read that some routers can have stable lines even at 3db SNR

Try contacting Telkom to hear if the line can be synced @ 10Mb. When our area was upgraded I was also connected @ 6Mb then contacted my ISP, who also manage my line, and they re-synced my line at 10Mb.

i did,the guy told me my exchange can only support 6mbps :(

Don't just accept that as an excuse, it took me a year of fighting with Telkom and Axxess and eventually my line was sorted out. I was paying for a 4-10Mb line and never got more than 3Mb, now I sit on 8-9Mb and on a good day get the 10Mb I'm paying for.

i payed for a normal 4mbps (max at that time)

so last month my exchange got upgraded (checker said 10mbps) so i upgraded

but only gotten 6mbps

so after 4call to telkom

i talked to a verry nice guy,he lookedin to it,and said my exchange can only handle 6mbps at this time, they still bussy with upgrades etc ,so i will see what happens in a month or 2
i can stream 1080p in youtube wiht that 6mbps,so i am happy :)
