So apparently I am just out of the 2.5km radius for VDSL, after a lof of fighting I was able to sync at 18MB.

I am very surprised. I assume I am at ADSL2+ not vdsl, however, it is better then nothing.

Are these stats bad?

You might have an issue with the 66dB (actually 6.6) if your line isn't 100%. If it drops below 60 (6) your line will get unstable or drop.

Otherwise it looks fine.
You can already see with the downstream errors that it's not 100% perfect.

nope

still at more than 6snr so wont see a problem for the most part

just may drop speed when it starts to rain etc,but looks ok

So I am correct in assuming this ADSL2+ not VDSL? I have a VDSL modem, should I use that rather would it improve anything?

I don't really suffer from any drops at all for a week now.

Yes, you're on ADSL2+. VDSL will give worse speeds at that distance

enjoy your speed i am so jelly of your line

how does 4k/1440p stream on youtube with 18mb?

that great :)

wonder how it will stream on a 40mb or even 100mb then :O

click,blink,done buffering :P

i like when thing buffer alot faster than i can stream, leave alot of headroom if someone els in the house want to hog the bandwidth

Hey,

Your attenuation is more or less exactly the same as mine. I could only get 16Mbps when i had the upto 20Mbps service back in November so definitely an improvement to see you get so high.

One of the tricks i learn't from a friend [cavedog] to test some stability since you are getting errors is to run a multi-segmented download [more connections better] and let it run for about 5-30mins. Monitor then. Always go for more stability than speed imo.

Enjoy your fast line :).

With 32.5 dB Attenuation and syncing stable @ 18Mbps well that is pretty damn good if you ask me. It means you line is flawless. I would say it is 100% even though you are seeing some errors it's nothing serious because you are syncing at a high rate and being quite a distance from the exchange those errors you are seeing is fine. It should not affect your speed or gaming at all.

I would not worry about the 6.6dB SNR as Telkom's new line management system will push your sync speed down when it rains/lightning or the SNR drops lower.

Very good stats though and yes it is adsl 2+ not VDSL
