Synch speed and exchange speed

This is probably a stupid question, but although my line synchs at 8mb/s, my exchange apparently can only handle 4mb/s.

I assume I wont achieve 8mb speed.

Yeah I guess your right. But if your line syncs at 8mbps then your exchange has the equipment for 8mb but its probably crowded with lots of other users and thus you only get about 4mbps. Test your line speed late at night and see what happens. Also make sure your ISP account is 8mbps/10mbps.

My ISP is 4mb business with Afrihost. The 10mb is extra. Its not a 4/10mb account

Then if your account is 4mbps that is all you are going to get, even if you sync at 8 mbps.
