Synching/Back up using Ext HD

Hi,

Just got my external Hard Drive to make back ups of my media on my laptop. It's a Seagate Freeagent. It has auto backup, sync and encryption. Do you guys prefer the sync option or the auto backup while u're away from the pc? What are your general/usual settings?

Copy and paste, overwriting. You'll never have a problem restoring a file and you can easily share with somebody else without having to install anything.
