Syncing new remote

Have a DSTV Explora and just bought an A6 remote. I cannot figure out how to actually get the decoder to recognise the remote. Help?

Probably set to the wrong mode. There should be buttons for mode 1 and 2 around the arrow cluster...

The Explora comes with an A5, the A6 is the universal version of the A5
