Activists in Syria say a government jet has dropped a cluster bomb on a playground, leaving 10 children dead.

Video posted on the internet showed children's bodies on the ground with their mothers grieving over them.

The children were killed when a MiG fighter bombed a playground in the village of Deir al-Asafir, east of Damascus, opposition activists said.

Intensive fighting has continued around the capital. Rebel fighters captured at least part of an airbase on Sunday.

Further footage of the playground attack showed what appeared to be cluster bomblets on the ground.


In one video, two girls could be seen lying dead in a street while another showed a distraught mother standing, apparently inside a clinic, over her daughter's lifeless body.

i find it difficult to believe a millitary would willingly use children as fodder in war, but history of the region proves otherwise !

Collateral damage isn't it? A bomb went wrong killed innocent people.

Why would anyone freak out, the Americans do it almost daily. As many people mention there will always be collateral damage. The use of the cluster bomb is disgusting but i guess when your main super powers are happy to use it, then why should other people try to avoid it.

The americans set the precedent, i am amazed the anti assad okes have not gone crazy though. I guess we are used to innocent kids dying because of war.

There isn't bait, i only saw this thread now. Read about it last night but it's just war and people die. I have changed a lot, no point caring on about innocent deaths during a war. Shyte happens and people die.

O yes i forgot bombing innocent people abroad is very different to doing it at home.

acceptable to do it anywhere in the world for the US but heaven forbid assad accidentally bombs his own people while fighting a foreign enemy.

fighting a civil war is no different to fighting a foreign war, why is there is difference if i may ask albereth.

So let's use an example:

Americans accidentally bomb a school in baghdad and kill 30 people that is chilled.
Syrians accidentally bomb a school and kill 30 people that is worse because it's on their own soil?

I must be missing the logical aspect of killing innocent people or maybe i don't understand or grasp why you can kill foreign innocents but not your own people by accident.

There is a massive difference between mistakenly blowing up innocent people and deliberately targetting your own people.

Yes, you can have collateral damage in any conflict, but in this case the Syrian government shouldn't be shooting at its own people in the first place, never mind missing and hitting a playground.

And I am afraid if you can't tell the difference between civil war and foreign war what difference will it make what I say?
 
They are not shooting at their own people, they have killed over 150 foreign fighters, their own people are being supplied by foreign countries. Syrian or not when you fight a war you are an enemy regardless of who you are or where you come from.

They are fighting an enemy that is not syrian people based. It is foreign based, the foreigners are supplying the syrian people to do their fighting and foreign fighters are entering the country and helping fight assad.

Huge difference to killing innocent random people with no training or weaponry. War bro, remember the american civil war? They were killing each other but that is more than likely a different story as well. Going far back but your logic defies me :D.

War is war regardless of who your enemy is.

Lincoln was killing americans because he was fighting a war against an enemy. Perhaps my understanding of a war situation is different to yours.

O you should also look up the vietnam war and see how many accidental american deaths there were but it wasn't on american soil so killing your own people once again is different.

Sorry i didn't even know we were talking about israel, you keep bringing up your jewish brothers even though you are not a jew.

you have some sort of love fantasy with the country, nobody has even mentioned them. They live in a tough neighborhood but they do use stupid tactics which is hurting them globally. I like how israel deal with guerrilla warfare though, blow up the entire block :D. I think it's the only tactic that can work. The US however cannot attack countries and blow up entire blocks like israel because the situation is not the same.
