System Crash

I had the same problem. There used to be an issue with Nvidia graphics cards where the driver would not correctly control the fan speed of the card. Download the latest drivers and get a third party app like RivaTuner and overide the Auto fan speed control. Set the fan speed at a higher level and the problem should go away.
 
OK , this might not be true but reality, You might be running pirate windows7 or the game is cracked , windows 7 has a built in Fsuck you cannot play crack games , LOL

Also might be the problem install directx 10 or if you Gf card can handle 11 , I also wonder if that game is compatible , does windows tel you that its going to adjust you resolution settings when the game starts up
 
Adielh ..... windows 7 does allow cracked games to play but GTA isnt a cracked game. If you guys read up a bit you'll see that i no longer have this problem.

o i remember, i googled the problem once, GTA4 was ported to pc, they developers were lazy, in the end the pc gamers suffer because of this porting problem, the same with saints row 2 on windows, the frameskip is 3 times faster than what its supposed to be.

As for why GTA4 is screwed on your pc, google it, best advice i can give you...maybe its just a quick fix in the registry.

Yeah, about the 8600gt...whats up with that? talk about a bottleneck,lol
 
hahaha I spent too much on new parts for the new pc and then i realized that my graphics card is not going to cut it but it was too late, the parts were ordered but im going to save up now for a new gfs card

okay now that you mention that my graphics card isnt that great im going to buy a new one!

what would you guys recommend? id prefer to go ati as my motherboard insists that i use ati on it...

my budget is about R1000 any ideas?
