4 years+ system administrator experience in a predominantly Microsoft environment

Experience required
- Windows Server 2008, 2008 R2 installation, maintenance (updating etc), troubleshooting
- IIS configuration and management
- Website/application configuration & troubleshooting
- Microsoft desktop OS (Windows 7+) – installation, management, troubleshooting
- Domain/registrar management (.co.za and other TLD)
- Good understanding of domains, DNS, DNS records and their function(s)
- Understanding of monitoring servers/services
- Solid TCP/IP fundamentals:
Subnetting/IP routing
Application layer protocols DNS, SMTP, FTP, POP3, IMAP, RDP, etc including function and troubleshooting

Advantageous skills/experience
- Windows Server 2012/R2
- Batch scripting
- Powershell scripting
- Active Directory
- Knowledge of CMS (especially Wordpress)
- Ubuntu Server
- MSSQL Server 2005+ management
- MSSQL concepts
- SQL query writing
- MAC OS
- Virtualisation (Hyper-V)
- Windows clustering
- Cisco routing/switching/firewalls
- Mikrotik routers
- Email marketing concepts
