Does anyone know where I can find a table tennis venue in or around cape town? Either in town or around Rondebosch/Claremont area preferably.

Just looking to play casually a couple times a week.

Your best best would be Goodwood Table Tennis club.

They practise on a Monday and Wednesday night. Starting at 7pm.

That WPTT red Frog site is a piece of crap.

If you need more info, just pm me.

Cheers!

Thanks for that, yeah, I phoned a bunch of them from that excel sheet and indeed the Goodwood one seemed to be best bet. Just a pity it only opens at 7pm, I was hoping to go during the day.

It doesnt open at 7pm. If you a member, you cna use the facility during the day. Club members generally practise around 7pm due to everybody being at work during the day.

Check out my Table Tennis site if you need info on equipment.

Hi - I just found your posting from 2010 re table tennis in Rondebosch. Did you ever manage to source a club nearby?

I am also interested in this, as well as any info on where I can buy decent rubbers and equipment in Cape Town.

Hi guys.

I just stumbled across this post while browsing online. I may be able to help you find a club as I am a table tennis player.

What area do you live in?

A lot of times people come in here and offer help but they turn out to be frauds. I find it hard to trust anymore. I've put up walls around my heart. Are you willing to try and break them down?

Hahahaha

Emotional much?

I'm just offering to help. Been playing competitive table tennis for 20 years.

It would help if you are more specific as there are a number of clubs in the South.

Grassy Park
Claremont
UCT
Pinelands
Strandfontein (they might have closed)

Claremont is the closest. Thanks. Do you need to join the club or can you just use their equipment?

St Saviours is in Claremont. They use a church hall, very close to BMW in the main road.

No clubs in SA have equipment you can use, it's best if you purchase a hobby bat from Sportsmans Warehouse for +-R100 and then visit the club for a knock.

By equipment I meant the table :p just want to casually knock about and not play against leaguers.
