Hi

I’m looking at the feasibility of using an Android tablet as my primary workstation/laptop.

I know my biggest problem will be MS Office but Google Docs will do.What device will you guys recommend that is able to be used with a keyboard and mouse with HDMI(VGA) out. It will mainly be used for RDP and SSH. With the basic native apps. IM, Browser and Teamviewer etc…….

I was looking at the Nexus 7. Can you get a docking station with usb and HDMI ports for the Nexus?

Will it work?

I would suggest the Microsoft Surface 3 as that is the closest you will get to a laptop replacement

All other tablets don't even come close and will not have all the functions.

It will be pricey but worth it IMO

Asus also have similar, but more basic tablets that come with keyboard docks, such as the T100TA.

But the SP3 is very nice, if you can afford it.

I have an ASUS Transformer droid tab which comes with a keyboard dock

For RDP purposes it's great, I'm using the official Microsoft RDP client ( http://goo.gl/f39qW6) which works perfectly with the keyboard, once you are connected to the remote host you wont even notice you are working on an android device. Got my device back in 2012 so there should be newer models like the Prime series. However I also do agree with the previous comment that the Microsoft surface series might be better but at a cost.
