Hi all

Contemplating getting a tablet on a contract as my company is willing to put 150pm towards the tablet as I can use it to support users remotely and receive emails etc...

I hate Ipads so in terms of contracts, the only tablets being offered are contract are the samsung ones, the best being the galaxy note 10.1 but in terms of specs, they don't really compete with the Ipad specifications especially in terms of the display and resolution.

Contracts still seem a bit expensive as the galaxy note 10.1 is around 369pm and galaxy tab 2 P5100 is around 269pm.
Both include 500mb data which is enough for me as I have wifi at home.

I think its better to wait or should I stop being fussy and get a galaxy tab 2 or a galaxy note 10.1 or do you think they are worth the money...

Any idea when better tablets will be offered on contract in SA?

I say wait as well. I think 2013 will be the year of hd resolution.

What about the Samsung Ativ Tab from Standard Bank? Full 1080p playback, USB2 port HDMI out port, micro SD, long battery life, accepts keyboard dock (they're just a little scarce being so new)...R5999 cash or interest free over 24 months if you are a Stanbic client. I have Android, iOS, Windows Tabs, Ultra Books, A Macbook Pro and Windows 8 desktop, they aren't perfect, they just do things differently. For enterprise support the Galaxy Tab is excellent.

Does anyone know whether the HP envyX2 is available in SA yet? That looks like a decent option to.

By the looks of these few links I Googled, yes it is availble. Best place to start is always at the brand's website (hopefully they have a "local site") and check there.

See these:

or

However when not dealing with a reputable source, always just double check their online sales track record, or if any of the major banks approves trading with them.
