So, i went to my daughters Tablet information evening for Grade 8 next year.

So basically a lot of things are going to be done via the tablet and school wifi. Homework can be downloaded etc etc, and even Youtube will be used to catch up on lessons...

I will be getting ADSL at home to access the web via Wifi (thanks Afrihost ). All have wifi, some have 3G and all have SD card slots. The screens are 7", 8" and 10". and the choices are explained as follows

The following list was given as possible tablets for use.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N8000-10.1”
Samsung Galaxy GT-P5110-10.1”
Intel Studybook 10” Android Tablet-10.1”
Asus MemoPad Smart 10.1”-10.1”
Samsung Galaxy GT-P3110-7”
Intel Studybook 7” Android Tablet-7”
HP Slate-7”
Asus/Google Nexus-7”
Asus Phonepad-7”
Acer B1-7”
Samsung Galaxy note 2 N5100-8”

What would be the best one to get. We have to buy ourselves, and get insurance as well

Thanks in advance

Go for a 10" for one.
I have 7" and 10" at home. the extra screen space will come in handy.
P-5100 is a decent tablet for viewing and reading, but the Note is a better option for input with its stylus.
The reviews on the Studybook is mixed.
So going with what I've worked on - Galaxy Note 2 N8000.
As for insurance, a decent case with bumpers and a cover/stand. And see if you can add it to your household contents as a out-and-about. My P5110 costs about R115 a month on insurance.

Go 10" but also wait till closer to the school year as new stuff will probably be out.
