Hi all

After weeks of frustration I finally canceled my NeoFlop account. Now I have to go back to Iburst with my tail between my legs. Once again the consumer got his ass whipped by big business. Well done Neotel, I think you have succeeded in ruining the hopes of the internet community for a fair deal. You must be real proud of yourselves.

Could you explain to us why you cancelled your Neotel account?
 
On NeoFlop Neotel promises between 300 - 700 kbps download speed. On speedtest.net my latency is about 1140 ms. My download speed is 16 kbps and my upload speed is 5.9 kbps. I logged a call about this some time ago (48582). Let my point out here that my problems started way before I logged the call. It basically started when I swopped the phone for the router.

I also never got any feedback. If I wanted feedback I had to phone them. Finally last week I phoned them to cancel (53392). After several attempts to find out how the cancellation procedure works, someone finally phoned me today. They openly admit that there is a problem and they also can't tell you when it is going to be resolved. So now it seems that my account will be canceled by the 31st and I asked for a refund.

And that is my story.
 
Andre, would you mind providing us with a clue as to where it is that you experienced this terrible throughput, so that those living in that area can be warned?
 
I live in Johannesburg in Khyber Rock. It is opposite Woodlands Office Park.
 
This is just amazing. For all its faults, at least iBurst has an active rep on these forums, and may I say a capable one too.

Why then is it that the Neotel rep is never responding to sad cases such as these. Surely they are fast losing subscribers, existing and potential?

Makes one wonder...
