Could anyone who uses a general vpn please test Takealot (expecially if you have Mullvad VPN). The site loads for me but none of the products load for me. If I open the site without a VPN the site loads fine.

Anyone else with a paid for vpn having problems looking at the products on https://www.takealot.com

There no real alternatives to Takealot are there? except Amazon?

why would takealot do this? its not like they operate outside SA, and there is any benefit to using their services from another IP.
unless thats the point, they want to prevent people logging in from outside SA?

Works fine with whatever VPN comes with my smart dns as well as cloudflare.

I have no idea, I use a VPN so NOC at my ISP cant browse my browsing history. Now I have to reduce my online security for no valid reason? I hope this is just a bug and they fix it.

My tinfoil hat two cents:

Takealot's attempt at trying to block pricing scrapers, things like serval tracker etc..

Initially these trackers are hosted behind one or two static IP addresses and then get blocked and then the folks running the trackers need new IP addresses and using a VPN is a good way to get new and varied IP addresses..

Okay, thats an even better and simpler explanation. That would make sense.

Trust me, you're not that important to them and unless you're browsing kiddie porn you most likely don't even feature in their minds.

Im sorry you thought that. Didint even cross my mind. Anyone browsing cp thinking that a VPN will protect them from that is going to learn some very important lessons.

Mullvad is doing ad / tracking filtering - the site breaks for me also whenever I enable AdBlock in my Mikrotik router or run Ad-nauseam

The man's point still stands.. no one at an ISP is sitting there actively looking at people's browsing history.. moreover, they would at best have a protocol level break down of your internet usage and IF you use the ISP DNS server, then they might know which websites you are using, but again, only if they go looking for it, and that only happens if there's a legal request for the information..
