Takealot.com has started making profit - CEO

Ya, I also wanna know which it is.
Profit, or still in loss territory.
paid propaganda piece? because its only a matter of time before Amazon comes in like a freight truck and mows them down.
I think they are yet to fully launch and do what they did elsewhere around the world. decimate all and dominate markets

Takealot is trying desperately to hold on to its lead for now, until Amazon comes and finishes them off.

Literally everything you read about Takealot lately is just lies and them trying to force consumers to use them. We'll if your profit is so much..... why are you scared about Temu and Shein. It just shows how you overcharge the South African market with your 500% markup. Thanks for proving my point from the get go. Takealot is taking South Africans for a ride and the uninformed pay like fools for products from China anyway.
In terms of Chinese hierarchy, Takealot is very high, bro. Koos Bekker owns an enormous chunk of Tencent. The bottom line, evading tax is evading tax, and the CCP faction behind Tencent will not take kindly to that kind of "competition". In fact they execute you in China for corruption, so it's pretty serious to be doing this to an established China player from a China perspective.

So this is less of a China vs local companies thing and way more a China vs China battle for the market here, and these guys fight dirty! It's crazy to think but that's how they operate, every company to some degree is embedded in their government, but it seems not all are made equal or represent the whole government, there are definitely factions.

So for journos and pro pundits, make sure you research who owns what and represents who before attacking, LOL. Don't get bamboozled by CCP lightweights into attacking very serious people.

Unlikely they have turned a profit. Every year they have been growing their revenue and expenses. The cap has roughly stayed the same.

If we saw incremental improvements, I would be more inclined towards believing them.
