I ordered a camera bundle from Takealot last week. The order arrived on time. No problem...
Upon inspection I noticed that the Camera bag included in the order was missing a few components, namely the shoulder strap and the dividers (used to compartmentalise the bag).I phoned them right away and was advised to log a return claim which I did right there and then. I had to explain in detail what was wrong with the order and the course of action I wanted them to take (replace, refund etc.)
I stated my grievance and mentioned that the rest of the order (camera, lenses etc.) was 100% fine and that I only wanted them to replace the bag. They emailed me back the following day and asked me to package the bag for courier collection. The courier picked up the bag on Tuesday. This morning they mailed me and said that they refuse to honour the replacement because I did not include the camera!? I phoned them and was told that without the camera they cannot swop out the camera bag? When they receive the camera they will inspect it for damage - if there is nothing wrong with the camera, they will replace the bag and ship me a new camera (if they have stock!)
So I might end up with a scenario where I have a brand new camera bag and no camera? Is it just me, or is this totally absurd?
