Could we as Telkom ADSL users (everyone on mybb & friends, family, etc) submit a single large complaint to ICASA about slow speeds, high latency, packet loss, over subscribed exchanges & a discount for people who don't sync at 10mbps yet?

Plus would the ISP's (Mweb, Web Africa, Internet Soultions, etc) back us up on this?

I have 4X 4mbps lines that all under preform all the time and are almost usable between 5pm to 9pm daily.

I have logged so many faults in the past with Telkom, but with no end in sight, incompetence ranks king at Telkom and not a soul has the power to fix these problems.

RPM, i am asking you, would you be interested in assisting with something like this?

We would have to get every single person we know who has problems to give there information such as:
Name, Surname, ADSL tel number & the problem experienced.

No i do know Telkom will respond saying they are upgrading their network, But should we manage to get them to pass a credit for each any everyone until our faults are resolved they might act quicker as we are harming their profits.

Is this a fight with no happy ending, or do you guys think we stand a chance?

Hell we could even get the DOC (don't laugh) and CPA involved.

Just a thought........

They already do. If you log a fault...

They don't on ADSL only faults if your analog service is down with ADSL then they can credit you.

Tried more than once, endless battle. But what i am gunning for is to get congested exchanges fixed.

I must just say,

South African's are quick to complain about something, but very lazy when they are asked to fight......

Fighting a big corporation like Telkom isn't easy. They will tie you up in litigation for years which run up your legal fees exponentially. Difficult dude.. Good luck to you - wish I could help in some way. I have been struggling with a oversubscribed exchange for almost three months now... :(

That is why I want to do this, I first want to go through proper channels like CPA, ICASA & DOC.

The we as a group can consider legal action.

But it is so easy to find people who complain, B*tch & Moan, but when you ask them come help me lets fight this together, they run.... So don't complain if you are not willing fight back......

We have, several times. ICASA have no interest in sorting this issue out. They are well corrupted to keep the status quo.
