Taking ADSL line over to Afrihost

Hello,

I'm in the process of taking our adsl line over to afrihost, wanted to sign up with axxess because of the cheaper price but do not quite trust their service levels compared to afrihost.

It has now been about 5 working days since I initiated the line port.
What is the average completion time for a line port?
Once it is finished, I will upgrade the speed from 384kbps to 1mbps, is there also a waiting time for this to come into affect?

Afrihost has been keeping me up to date with sms alerts indicating how far the process is from completion.
Third sms stated: "Your line has been correctly provisioned by Telkom and is due for completion. We will keep you posted."

How long to go from here?

Also:
I am taking over adsl payment from my neighbor, will he be contacted by Telkom before the move is made?

Was kept updated with more sms messages.

Finally have the line on my name.
The owner of the telkom line was never contacted to confirm that the line should be passed on?

Hopefully he will not be billed along with my account?

I requested the line be upgraded after the port has been done.
Upgrade took about 2 days to be completed.

Very happy with speeds and service from Afrihost
