Hi guys

I'm travelling to Germany next week, and want to take my iPad2 with me. Will I have any hassle at customes when coming back to SA? Do I need to have proof that I purchased it here?

Just fill in a IT65 SARS form (need to confirm the number) for all your electronic equipment and jaw it stamped at the customs off at or tambo. It is valid for a year. If you get stopped when you retrn, show them the form. I've never been stopped, but rather be safe than sorry

There's a customs booth for declaring goods at the international departure check in terminals at O R Thambo. They fill out the form for you and just need the serial number. Easy peasy.

I've always just kept a pdf of my receipts on my laptop for all of my electronics, there's no reason why you couldn't do that on the iPad. On the off chance you're stopped you can just show them the invoice.
