Hi All;

I have a tom tom one V3

and for some strange reason it comes on but any taps on the screen dont get picked up

GPS shows my position and shows my speed and so on, but pressing on the screen like ive always done, dosnt let me
program a route;

Ill try a bit later to update its maps, might help a bit, but remember that it started when I got a refub unit from tom tom Netherlands;
it was quite strange that as the screen stopped working only on the edge, so things starting with p,l,m,n,k,o,
didnt type them properly,

in the worse case will send it again for service, apparently tom-toms come with lifetime warrenty in SA
provided you still have your receipt:D

anybody have anything similar before?

yeah tried my nose didnt work......:)

even have a stylus that I can use, that didnt work.....

Probably wear on the digitiser - Those old resistive ones do have a lifespan, and if it spends a lot of time on your dashboard in the sun, there are plenty ways for it to be damaged from the heat.

I remember my mother had an old GPS that ran on top of Windows Mobile, and one particularly hot day, it actually melted some of the back plastic to the point it was dripping onto the dash. Sun was at a 30 degree angle to the side, so I guess the windscreen acted as a magnifying glass.

Still worked though :D
