Hi there

I have owned a Tata Xenon for a few months now, and I am just wondering if anyone else has experiences to share regarding its usability as a 4 x 4, off roading capabilities etc?

You can't use Tata and "good" in the same sentence :p

This forum might give more knowledgeable info.

The issue is not whether it is a good 4x4, but whether it makes a reliable 4x4.

My Dad has much experience in the automotive trade due to the nature of his previous job. Tata where one of the few vehicles he never had an opportunity to test drive.

He always made bad assumptions about the poor quality and performance of the brand. Then 2yrs ago he borrowed a friends Tata for a couple of weeks. His opinion has changed - rates it as one of the best in its class.

But on 4x4, I've spoken to the local 4x4 community and without a doubt they can tell you that very few off the shelf vehicles can hit the trails. Its not about brand but more about the driver, his skills and his mods - shocks for one; tyres; etc

If you bought a Tata in the first place your expectations can't be too high, so it's easy to not have a bad experience.

what a load of bs ! most people who bought tata's bought them when they were jst released and being a new kid on the block obviously their expectations were high.

I always find that new-releases deliver the worst experiences. How many people said never touch Hyundai - sure, they where junk the first year or two, but now they are great. Love my wifes ATOS and glad she did not get a VW or a Corsa.
