Anyone recommend something decent in Johannesburg?

I don't subscribe and can't use Good Fellas etc - this is just a once off for 8km. Btw - what's the average charge?

Randpark Ridge to North Riding

You can try Zebra taxis, they look pretty decent. Not sure about the costs though.

How many people?

if more than 5 , i can come and transport you.

Taxi rank not busy today.

Walk? 8km would take you about 45min if you walk slow

Yea ... apart from not being the most fit (I think 8km took me an hour average pace), I also don't want to be stabbed or robbed on the way

And only me

I used to live in Randpark Ridge before i left SA, and also North Riding. Is it really that bad?

When it snows heavily where I stay in England and can't get the car out, I walk to work. It's about a 35min walk.

Walk slow. You don't need to be fit to walk that sort of a distance. Just not carrying an injury.

But if you don't feel safe, don't do it:)

It was last night ... got a friend to give me a ride ;)

Metered taxi's are such a colossal rip-off. I wanted to use one to take me from my home to Lanseria and back. At R290 one way for the cheapest metered cab, I chose to park my car there for 4 days and pay R300 for parking.
