How do I register as a taxpayer?

I have been to the SARS website, but all that says there is to fill out a IBIT 77 form. And the first info that form requires is a - tax reference number

Pop into your local SARS. They are normally very helpful

It only requires a tax number if you want to change your details like address etc... Fill in the form, attach your IRP5 and vehicle log sheets if you have any and take it to the SARS office. They will have a hole in the wall with a box on the other side you can drop it in so no need to even go inside.

You need to register in person at a SARS office.

Only way around it is to make use of a 3rd party company. That is what I did. They charge about R400 nowsday, but for me it was worth it.

No you don't! Just fill in the form and send it to them; as you don't have a tax number yet, you just leave that bit blank.

eish i need to register aswell....ive had a reminder on my cellphone every 2 weeks for 5 months and i still dont get it done.ffs
