TD-W8970 - TP-Link

What am I missing. Recently got a tp-link W8970 - my trusty netgear dg834 finally gave out after years of great service, seeing me through line upgrades from 1mbps up to 10mbps and the countless changes between ISPs. So plugged in the tp-link and did the quick setup, chose pppoe (ends up creating ppo_o_e_d connection) - setup my username and password for ADSL - line syncs at 10mbps etc etc but I keep getting this error :
ppp0 timeout waiting for pado packets

No authentication happens. No internet, I feel only half alive for some odd reason.

Did you edit the VPI/VCI to 8/35?

Does the TP router get hot or smell funny?

Did you set your modulation to ADSL2+?

Factory reset the router and dont use the setup wizard, do everything manually.


Only change the following:

-Encapsulation to PPPoE over LLC
-VPI/VCI:8/35
-Username
-Password

Try the telkom guest account

Will try this. Was initially going to try using the cd media provided with the device but this is a better option

Hmm when I've had Pad0 issues it was exchange related not Router.

Had to have Telkom work their magic.
