Team Fortress 2

We have weekly gaming sessions in the office (While waiting for traffic to clear up), and currently we're looking to buy Counterstrike from steam. Upon looking into that, I found that the HL2 Orange Boxset looks pretty good... But I've never seen Portal or Team Fortress 2.

How is Team Fortress 2 on multiplayer?
Can I lend it somewhere (Try before you buy)?

Better than Counterstrike and not as childish as Earth Special Forces?
We have UT2004 for just plain, mindless shooting. Counterstrike involves a lot of tactic over quick reflexes.

TF2 rocks Play online myself ... all the achievements etc make it more fun too

Apparently you need to be quite a few players to make it fun (like Battlefield).
6 won't cut it...

played a sniper stage 1v1 the other day - that was fun ... but I suppose it could get repetitive ...

Can't you play on the internet (SAIX/ IS servers) from the office? By that time there should be enough players online allready.
Think with COunterstrike it would be the same thing.. 3vs3 CS or 3vs3 TF2 not much difference since both need a nice team size.
