Tech Analysis: Uncharted 2

Great analysis. I like "Photo mode"!

Perhaps one of the coolest elements of the demo is the inclusion of the full game's Cinema Mode. Uncharted 2 records your multiplayer games automatically and dumps the data onto your hard disk. Every single happening, every single twitch of the controller, from every player: it's all there, and you have total control over replaying every single aspect of the gameplay. Here is where things start to get seriously impressive - not only can you switch from player to player at will, but you can also invoke a free camera. In terms of getting an overall view of the battlefield, nothing can touch it.

Its not so perfect!

Only 9/10  Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Review

the game offers plenty of humorous moments, dramatic twists and turns worthy of a good thriller. The story genuinely surprises, and if Uncharted 2 doesn't hook you after the first chapter, it will after chapter three (for a good reason we don't want to share).

The visuals also pack a dramatic punch, with pyrotechnics straight out of a Hollywood blockbuster. You can almost feel the heat of the explosions that light up the different environments, as Nate and crew explore tropical and ice-cold locales.

Uncharted 2 has explosions straight out of Hollywood.

Even better than the visuals is the fantastic sound design that could be the best we've heard since Battlefield: Bad Company. The sound effects have the requisite "oomph" necessary in games like this, and the music hits just the right tone of adventure and tension. Meanwhile, this is the best voice cast we've ever heard, filled with poingant moments given with just the right inflection to make the game believable, all led by Nolan North, superb as Nathan Drake.

Tie all of this into a surprisingly fun multiplayer component that has co-op, deathmatch, capture the flag and "Horde" mode options, and Uncharted 2 is the best way to spend your money.

That said, embrace the experience developer Naughty Dog has crafted, because it is one of this generation's best. A tried-and-true system seller, Uncharted 2 is the reason we play video games.

It's no wonder our mailman nicked our copy.
:D

Busy playing the first one. One thing for sure, I am looking forward to the MP portion of the game.

me not so much, but i'm sure i will try it out... duhhh... but this game, to me personally, is about the single player experience. and what an experience it was (first one) and will be (2). seriously, can you imagine if they made an ACTUAL Indiana Jones game based on this engine and with this level of acting (voice and mocap)?

Tried playing the original on Crushing last night, kept dying :o
Oh just to let you know, trophies from the first one is tradeable in the second.
Don't know for what yet
Oh and the MP is awesome, great little bonus :D

The game usually comes up with a hint option when you start running around the area aimlessly. With the environment looking so good, it can be quite difficult trying to identify what structures you can use or not.
