Hi,

does anyone know of how I can get hold of Albert Nel(Founder of Tech Import) ? I bought a board from them which is still under warranty and after powering it up, the board is dead. I need the board RMA'd asap but Tech import has disappeared and I need to get it ASAP.

Any assistance is welcomed.

Thank You

I just went through all my emails. Couldn't find any number or direct email, sorry bud :(
Maybe try Facebook or Carbonite?

I tried facebook, he doesn't exist on there and the techimport page was taken off facebook as well.

I tried creating an account on Carbonite but it's awaiting approval from adminstrators so I can't post or do anything really.

I've just logged an RMA with ASUS but it is such a slow process but atleast I think I'm getting somewhere *sigh*

Apparently there service is not great but it's better than looking for some phantom person who would then go throught the same schlep you just did :D

So that number worked, just want to know for future reference?

It works but it's a slow process because they just give you an email address so it seems like it's going in to a blackhole

If the guys business has closed down then he wont be able to offer you a warranty service - that horse has bolted.
Because it is an Asus - just walk into Mustek service dept and hand it in - it shouldn't be a long process at all.

Ok will do, it's still under warranty so I'm hoping it shouldn't be a long story, I'll head to Mustek in Cape Town on Tuesday and see what happens, do I require a proof of purchase ? or do I just head there with the board in box and they'll take it from there ? I wana go with everything so they can't say "we require x and you don't have y" kind of nonsense.

I recently had an Asus tablet repaired under accidental warranty. I went onto Asus.com, went to their support and online chat, verified that the serial # was under warranty, printed out a transcript of the chat, but also took a copy of the invoice.
It took Mustek/Asus a good 3 - 4 weeks but alls good. I will update via pm the contact details of someone at asus that might be able to assist

Asus notebooks and tablets have intentional warranty, motherboards not. Better hope it's local stock...

Thanks everyone :) Just an update, Asus HQ support opened a case and they've said to head to Frontosa Technologies to return the motherboard and they'll take it from there since it's still under warranty

Had a similar scenario about a year ago, took my board to Asus' offices in Sandton:

Physical Address: 16 Milkyway Avenue, Linbro Business Park, Sandton, Johannesburg, Gauteng, Republic of South Africa Tell No:+ 27 (0) 861 727 727.

Gl.

Hi all, Frontosa sorted me out with a board :) quick and easy! not painful at all... I'm out of agony! :)
