Tech retailers should be doing...

Don't understand the problem. Thats why you are a salesman, to sell. Anyone can sell anything at a discount. If you want to give discount then your commission should also be less.
This is nothing new. I sold new cars years ago and it worked the same. You give discount, your commission is less.
Ah, a car salesman.... that explains so much about you OMG

If you know, you know. Picked up insane deals over the years. Does mean you have to be visiting though so... take that into account
Oh hell yeah. The one time I went to the US on business, I made a special Uber detour to a Best Buy close to my connecting airport ... and walked out with a Roku media player for next to nothing (I think it was like R300). That was an absolute win a few years ago, before Smart TVs became as popular as they are now. I wish I had more time to wander through the store, it was pretty overwhelming because I was still suffering jetlag rofl.

Last visit picked up an RTX 5070Ti for around R6.5k ....

The cameras, VR glassess etc were also stupidly cheap but... had no more space
Bro, no more space isn't a valid excuse. Chuck out all your clothes, who needs clothes anyway when there are great tech deals #priorities
