Technet local downloads

I have a IS local account, but I can't get technet downloads to work, they appear to be on Akamai.

I started the downloads on international and paused them.

I tried IDM, but gets downloads that can't be resumed and not from Akamai.

I'm trying Microsoft File Transfer Manager now, it appears to redirect the links to Akamai, so they should work on local bandwidth, but the don't

Not all MS downloads work.

Is it redirecting to the akamai servers at all?

I've been in contact with Microsoft.

Only the ones listed here will download via Akamai:

Edit:
Now that I found what I can download via Akamai, the speed is terrible.
I did a test and downloaded something from mirror.ac.za and got full line speed.
