Technical Operations Manager
Location:Office in Rosebank, Johannesburg with another branch in Cape TownHarare and throughout Africa
We are looking for someone technically minded, honest and very logical for a position at an International Media Company (based in France with 180 branches worldwide) to manage the Southern African region and in future the Africa region.
Skills needed which is most definite:
- Some satellite experience or knows at least some satellite technology.
- Desktop support (Windows 7 mainly) and some OSX, Photoshop and Final Cut.
- Experience or knows about video production, standards and protocols
- Experience in managing contracts (Printers/Cell Phones/Gensets/AC/Security etc)
- Some experience in budgets
- Some experience in fixing equipment like Camera's / Video Camera's / Phones and anything else people break.
- Understands and knows some networking skills
- Client Support experience, i.e. a "people person"
- Doesn't mind travelling to deepest Africa on occasions - Must be able to return to RS of A.
- Can organise installation projects in other countries from Madagascar to Angola ( 13 countries in total ) and able to travel to France occasionally.
- A leader and can make decisions, a thinker that can come up with solutions to any problem, a visionary who knows ahead of time what is required in very real-time circumstances ...
- Doesn't mind or can deal with mainly French speakers ( google.translate is your friend )
- Can work on weekends if needed and take a day off during the week to compensate
- An out-the-box thinker
