Tedelex Intellipower 4 or modded RCT 2000VA?

Hi,
For my needs I've settled on either this Tedelex Inverter with battery pack:

or this RCT 2000va UPS with the batteries replaced with 100aH deep cycles as per this mybroadband thread:

Both come to about the same cost - any pro's and con's between the 2 apart from the obvious? My need are to run to Point of Sale PC's, a credit card machine and wifi over loadshedding....
 
Charger, charger, charger.

I am done talking about this. Some very clever people here that know stuff....but are unable to understand how batteries work.

I don't have Moola to waste on batteries every 3 Months or so :erm:

You do not need a Deep Cycle battery to handle stuff.....what you need is a Normal sized battery that meets your needs.

Coupled with a charger that can do the job :mad:

Some will read here and think..they know better:whistle:

Meh, tired of preaching. See you all around 3 to 6 Months from now.
 
Im sure a "normal sized battery" on a charger will last a long time but this guy actually wants a UPS.
 
I came back here to SA after trying to help people on another Forum that is US based,

They do or never had our particular situation right now with constant/daily load shedding

Different to their stuff. I tried to help....just don't get it. Thinking here that I can help people to see a bit of sense...

Not really worth it. My little setup works well. Very well. And contrary to what some say, Calcium/Lead Acid is not crap.

Depends on the Battery quality and the charger...I look forward to many more blackouts from ESKOM.

Thanks but both your replies didn't add any value - suggest if you dont like the question posed then rather choose not to answer.
 
Intellipower 4 has 2 x 100mah batteries. My Intellipower 2 has one battery which is dying.
I can either invest in the intellipower 4 or buy two batteries for my intellipower 2 and
connect them in parallel. My question is: would two batteries double the run time and if so
then it will be on a par with, and cheaper, than the intellipower 4.

Know nothing but seem to need the "2" only for tv and decoder. Where did you buy yours and why is the battery dying?

Presumably battery life is shortening due to all the recharging caused by load shedding. I have my TV, PC and decoder connected to the UPS. Lately I have had to switch the PC off hoping to get two hours of TV viewing in until the power is restored.
The Intellipower 4 appears to be sold out everywhere.
There are 1200w inverters being advertised but with a single 24v battery. I do not know the pros and cons of one 24v battery against two 12v batteries.
 
Bought my setup from Geewiz this afternoon. Mecer 1200 with a 102ah Energizer. Report back later this week.
 
Paid R4089 for my set up. Haven't had a chance to test yet as Sod's law states I'll never be shed again!!!!! Tested the switchover by switching off the mains and did not even notice a flicker on the tv. Been on charge now for 2.5 hours. Green light flicking and fan is running.
No idea how long it will take or how to know if it's charged? How much should a 102ah Energizer read when charged?

Great price. I bought mine yesterday from Ellies for R8500.
 
My report is elsewhere but am very satisfied with the new toy. Basically yesterday it was on for 4 hours and still had life. Ran everything perfectly. Switched on and off without a flicker on the tv screen. No buzzing noises, no heat, no problems. Charged for 8 hours up to normal reading of ± 13.5 V.
 
so whats the price on an inverter/ups with 105ah battery setup ? (an all in one combo already assembled - plug and play so to say)

I know people advise this inverter.. and that battery and some even suggest special battery chargers etc..


My setup is simple.. 47inch LCD tv with DSTV decoder. (my load is 280watts) and i need it to be running for 2hours to 2.5hours

I have an "kill a watt" the tv/decoder sometimes use 250watt and sometimes go upto 275watt and 280watt. I've never seen it go over 280watt ever.


Any ideas ?
