The bias of the magazine is decidedly conservative (for example, the December 2006 issue characterized the Democratic victory in Congress as a "dangerous turn for America"). It has also been criticized for allegedly anti-semitic, anti-islamic and racist editorials.

It would certainly be honourable for Iran to start mending ties, but they have not proven to be very trustworthy in most areas, and for that reason the "Top Shiite Cleric" is most likely very sceptical.
I'll wait and see if Iran really comes clean, like Libya did.

Well they did debunk a bunch of 9/11 conspiracies so that probably got them on the list.

Much of that article is sourced from Stratfor, which *IS* a credible, bipartisan and non-governmental source.

Umm its not exactly rocket science to figure this out. Iraq is/was a country with a majority Shiite population ruled by a mad man of the opposite sect(sunni i think) who led almost a decade long war against the iranian partially (actually wholly) cheerleaded on by Rumsfeld and Cheney. USA sold weapons and generally encouraged Iraq to start the Iraq-Iran war because of the Iranian revolution. So yes they are gonna flex some muscle and ensure that Iraq does not become a US puppet again and they don't have to fight another decade long war. Also just out of interest Iraq was a creation of the 40's it has historically never existed in its current form and was held to gether by a series of dictatorships. The state is destined for an eventual civil war along the SUnni- Shia-Kurdish lines probably leading to three states if the USA and Iran don't intervene.
