Tekken won the next gen battle for sony when they were battling sega. (it was after the 2 bop games for all you lighties
). even then virtua fighter was a better game technically, but tekken was more fun. its like the ps3 vs xbox debate. no matter how much you like the older, more established version - the newer, shinier bits n pieces take the cake. ergo - tekken owns both doa and vf (and soul calibre for sheer diversity).
having said that, i havent played street fighter since alpha 3 so i wont make a judgment there (though i am hoping it will be brilliant - just so i have another game to beat the crap out of people in).
PS: now that tekken is on the xbox, there is really no reason whatsoever people should rather buy a ps3!
