Hi expert member,
You are wrong on ALL counts. We are a brick and mortar business having an online presence. What i would suggest is, and also happens to be the easiest way, is to pick up the phone and call us. We have been in business long enough to understand and appreciate the importance of responding and furnishing alternative facts.
No offence intended, I would suggest that you pick up the phone, or mail us and then a human being will get back to you. Does not help making conclusions based on inaccurate data (not information).
And yes, we are fortunate to use FedEx as our delivery enablement partners. This is a premium service. We could easily have chosen any of the others but this was done for a very specific reason. They have something called "FedEx Web Services API, which forms a core part of our system.
"Thats especially not a delivery method really used here in SA for local shipments" . Very true.
But you are wrong yet AGAIN!.
Again there is something called ported landline numbers , not mobile numbers. (Only a mobile number for contact, and a CK address for recently last year - 2020/631623/07 )
A Telkom sharecall number 086 171 1712 isn't popping up for anything else-There's a service called Telkom Directory Services (1023)that could also be useful if one does not have a number to a business.
Sad you expend a lot of energy in trying to make an informed decision without correct facts. Works sometimes but offensive most other times.
And yes, there's always a first time for everything. Felt we had to get to this platform to ally fears and set record straight. In my personal capacity, has been with mybroadband.co.za for many years to understand the impact of a negative comment or post.
Lastly, if there's a part / spare / option and or system that catches your fancy on our site, you could choose a "customer collection in Johannesburg" option as your shipping method and physically collect from us.
Hope this helps.
JB-Tekmart Africa Staff.
I have no skin in this game.
When I say the number isn't popping up for anything else, I mean in terms of googling various layouts of that number to see if any other sites pop up for it. That has zero to do with directory assistance.
The reason I do that is its an easy way to find scammers, as they often use the same number for various sites. I've discovered (and reported) a few sites that way, and had them delisted at their hosting company.
If you don't believe me, check my post history on that. I'm not lying.
Your number appears to be unique (or at least not used elsewhere yet), so you passed that test.
Your site is a standard template thats not even filled out well. A bit of cursory search and replace to some things has taken place. This is also common to a lot of localized scammer sites. I can't say for certain whether you're a scammer though (vs someone with a shitty web designer). I'd probably need to look at the site history assuming its available via the waybackengine or similar to see if its "new".
Ok, lets check - hmm, not good. Lots of recent activity, nothing prior to that.
Your use of Fedex for delivery is also suspicious as mentioned. Most companies selling here would use Fastnet, CourierIT or similar couriers. Your website has courierit logo on there, however you don't mention it, and again, have doubled down on "Fedex".
Fedex locally just isn't in the same price range, which leads me to be suspicious, as scammers are often international, and don't know the vagaries of what would likely be used - you don't pass that test, especially when you double up again on that. Local delivery companies equally have API's that can be integrated into most backends.
Thirdly - if your registration number is correct - then the company was actually registered for use in 2020.
ie - 2020/631623/07. Thats not a company registration with years of registration.
I can't currently check whether its a valid number, as the rather worthless CIPRO site is borked. I'm not that interested to check that further.
In summation, while you
might be completely legit, there are a few warning lights that go off, as noted above.
You don't appear in the scammer database
https://db.aa419.org/fakebankslist.php?psearch=tekmart.co.za&Submit=GO&psearchtype= so that is a positive.
Overall I'd say your lack of internet history, tied to the information available online isn't that positive, its at best neutral.
Rather than say attacking the messenger, maybe you could post a few photos of your business, and location, so that the OP's post fears are allayed.
As it is, you're not really doing yourself justice. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt here - give us an intro to what you do, and some photos.
That will do a far better job of allaying suspicions, than back and forth with he said/ she said, especially given the
actual evidence available online
