Telecoms privatisation protested in Serbia

I don't know much when it comes to this type of stuff. Could someone explain to me what effect this would have on people if their government when ahead with this? Why are they so against it?

Ask any senior Russian about privatization and you will get a very harsh answer.

Edit:
Asked and got answer.
Privatization is transfer of everything to private company and hence change in management. Everything can be changed on owner's discretion. They fear of it, because it can turn into Russian examples.
Example: There was a government owned, maintained, division for water pipes, power lines, their maintenance, etc. in cities. After privatization, it wasn't maintained and was exploited until it is destroyed; being run at max profit and least spend on maintenance.
Imagine that for telecoms. Will sound like Telkom. But it depends on owner.

"In Soviet Russia, company privatizes you!" Not sure what this has to do with Russia though...

Telekom Srbija was already privatized once... some Greek company if I'm not mistaken. The consumer was pillaged in that time. Now the market is a lot more competitive so it could be good - the only good point they do make is that they won't get a good price for it now.

btw, Telekom Serbia made Telkom look like care bears while under foreign ownership... as a point of reference.
