Telegram attachment limit now 2Gb

People sending 1GB attachments in messaging services is a good reason to vote for Killer Asteroid 2020.

These people are severely broken in a manner that cannot be corrected.

Not when you think about using Telegram desktop app. What limit does your mail server have? GMail 25Mb and WhatscApp is lower I think.

That is how I got my boyfriends ex onto Telegram. He wanted a movie and does not know how torrents work, so told him to get Telegram and I sent him the movie file on Telegram. Seldom have the need to send such big files but it comes in handy when you need it.

There a literally a million tools out there better suited to the task.

Using a messaging app for this is like employing a spoon to tighten a lug nut.

Think a million is an exaggeration. Please cite 100 tools that allow you to drag and drop, or attach, from your desktop and almost any device, and transfer a file, upto 2Gb, to almost any other device, that is connected to the internet. Oh and the app must be 100% free, including no ads. Also it must be a single app or method and the app or method must notify the recipient that there is a file available across multiple synced devices if the user desires.

Surely you jest!

Maybe not 100 but certainly better suited.

DropBox
OneDrive
Google Drive

Actually, I don't care enough to think much further. Because using a messaging app to transfer 2GB files is fracking nuts on every level.

sjoe.....even as a gay man I can say .... that is being a bit dramatic! lol

Jokes aside, I dont see why you say that. It is a app that you can run on your tablet, PC, phone etc .... and you have the option to send a file up to 2GB if you WANT! It is there if you need it. No one is going to put a gun to your head and say "send that 1.98GB file or I blow your brains out". See .... I too can be dramatic! lol

Surely you jest!
You are the one that said literally. maybe go look up the meaning of the word

DropBox - free account = 2Gb limit
OneDrive - free account = 5Gb limit
Google Drive - free account = 15Gb limit
All the above need a second app to notify the recipient that there is a file for then.

Messaging apps have been used to transfer files probably before you we even born. ICQ has been around since '96 and they are up to 4Gb file size transfer.

People have been using email to send file since it has been around. Please don't tell me that email is not a messaging app.

And even further back in the 80's we had the BBS. Chat and file transfer is pretty much what we used that for.
