I cancelled my 2 gig Acc, last month and got a 3 gig, i clicked the wrong sign in, and went into it.

Can Telkom Charge me for usage on this account, and what else can happen.

Don't use it. It would seem unfair of them to charge for that 1 second. :)

You cancelled after all.

if you cancelled your account, then they can't. it would be their own fault.

you could use the one and let me use the other? ;)

cheers

you guys sure.

Ill use it for browsing, and a few torrents then.

if you cancelled use of the account, but then go use it, i would say they would easly be able to charge you.

Agree with w1z4rd. As it is, you are most likely going to have a fight on your hands, since Telkom is not above charging you for an account you cancelled already.

At this point, you can claim you were checking to see if the account was indeed closed - but use it? then expect to be billed and shown even less mercy.

So if i used it for browsing already, i might aswell carry on browsing just no havy usage.

no. if you use it, you use it. doesn't matter whether you're browsing or downloading.

do you have what date and time you called to cancel? the call will be recorded to back you up.

it's not your fault one of those twits never terminated your account when you asked them to.

I think you should double check that its been cancelled. Telkom are notorious for not actually cancelling services. The thing is if you've used it and they pick up on the fact you've just bought yourself a 2 gig account for the month of january, cause you don't have a leg to stand on as far as a refund go's.

I used to have two 3GB accounts but it took them about 3 months to cancel the second account due to the oddities of their billing system and seemingly the fact that the folks in the customer centres can only "request" a cancellation and that it is the Telkom Internet helpdesk who who eventually actually action it.

I got a FULL refund for the 3 months that I paid for an unused account as provided them with the reference numbers and email for the original cancellation request.

Yes, but the account was unused. You didn't do a little bit of browsing on it, did you?

Yep but if you have a reference number at the time then they are supposed to cancel it within a certain number of working days and I seriously doubt they checked my account for usage before they gave me the refund.

I reckon you better use it as much as you can. Basically what will happen is when you ask them if you're going to be charged for it they can see how much traffic has been used with that logon, when you logged on etc. The fact is they wont even bother to listen to you, we used a similiar system with satellite broadband, from their side they'll just think youre trying to take them for a ride because youve used the account. Get your torrents going and max out the account!
