Telkom 10MB line price question. Please help

Hi guys

I still have the telkom simple deal of a few years that gave you 4mb line 20GB(40GB Promo) CAP, line rental, free landline calls between certain time etc all inclusive for R500.

Now i dont really use TI as my primary account, i am on Vox fatpipe. only on rare occasion will i switch over when there are issues on VOX. I pay 160 for the fatpipe account.

So my total bill for Internet at home is about R660+- pm.

I want to up my line to 10MB and still use VOX. I dont think i can just increase my line speed to 10MB, they will probably offer me the R699 50GB cap offer?
Can i get rid of the simple deal and just pay for 10MB line and phone line? how much will this cost me?

sorry for the long post, my question really should be, how much does a 10MB line and phone line cost. No ISP data required?

I think people are going to need your line stats to see if you will be able to get 10mb/s http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/186156-Understanding-SNR-and-Attenuation-Rates. You may have to have to take 8mb/s or 6mb/s.

You can cancel the Telkom Data and use your Vox data on the 10mb/s line without any issues.

similar to the thread i just started, i have exactly the same setup as you(Vox+telkom=R660pm).

have you checked to on your router to see whats your max attainable lince sync speed?

I pay R625 for my 10Mbps line rental and 100GB+1000GB data through WebAfrica (the R425 for just the line rental component sounds about right), then the Telkom landline service costs R220/month (Weekender iirc - you get the free landline calls which is nice). R845 all-in, for what it's worth.

You can cancel the Telkom Data......

Wish it was as simple as picking up the phone and telling them to do that. At least for me it isn't.
I'm still jumping through hoops just to cancel the 1GB data portion from my Telkom account. They're charging me R69-30 for one measly GB. Soft cap or not, I don't need it.
The latest is that I'm supposed to fill in a form and email it back to them. Let's see how that goes.
