Telkom 20mbs VDSL activated

Hi Guys

I opted to rather go for the VDSL instead of LTE.

Just got confirmation that the VDSL was activated.

Can you guys please help me with tips on what settings to check on the PACE router tonight to make sure it is running correctly. The current mode is VDSL\ADSL, do I have to change that to VDSL only?

It should sync on the adsl/vdsl option.

Its called dual mode.

If not then change it to VDSL2 mode but the Telkom routers should work out the box.

What is the upload sync supposed to be? I get downstream 16000 but up only 1024. Is it not supposed to be closer to 2048?

Thats odd... should be the other way round... down should be 1600 and up should be 1024.

Possibly its the best your line can reach ?

What ADSL speeds were you getting ?

On VDSL it is 2Mbit up. Sounds like you're still on an ADSL2+ profile.

Yes, you have 15 down and 1 up. Its just what your line could sync at.

If you want to see your line stats click on troubleshooting, one of the options will give you connection stats.

Yep, that's ADSL2+ (Modulation G992.5).

VDSL will read as G993.2.

Your stats are not bad, they recon you should be getting about 24 meg.

From that screen shot... change the adsl/vdsl parameters , where it says adsl/vdsl mode change it to VDSL2 in the drop down.

If it does not sync then it means you can only get VDSL

Won't work. If the line was on a VDSL profile it wouldn't sync to a ADSL2+ profile at all.

Telkom needs to do it on their end.

SO what do you guys suggest? Should I contact telkom and ask for a technician to come out and check how they activated it at the exchange?

No. Just call 10210 and ask them to resync to VDSL. Mine took about a week and about 4 resyncs to go to VDSL.
