Telkom 3 month promo - modem ?

What modem do they give you?
Is it only the modem - so I need my own wireless router etc?
 
I got the Netgear one (router + wifi). Really happy with it but see they took away some of the functionality. The option in the setup for connecting an external drive to the USB port is not in the setup. Might upgrade the firmware to latest version (okay, just read in another thread that I can't upgrade firmware, hopefully new firmware end of March)

Well, if these people say they're getting the DuoPlus, then theres a chance you might get that. I received both. The 400G when I signed up for the 3 month special. When the three month special was over, I signed with Web Africa. The Telkom technician who was sent over then gave me the Duo Plus. I have used both, noticed some problems with the DuoPlus. Not sure if thats because of the modem, or my own messing around with the settings. :D My 400G is currently connected.
 
I could choose between the Billion 400G or the DuoPlus at the Telkom shop. The techie didn't bring one.
I choose the Billion as it was a familiar name.
However the range on the Billion wasn't good compared to my existing router.

Anyone know of where I can sell the 400G and if anyone is willing to buy it seeing my 3 months are up.
 
I did not get anything ! They said as an existing DSL user i dont qualify for the promo ! Life sucks hey

The range on the duoplus is impressive. I get 4 bars (can't remember the decibals now, not at home). The modem is at my dad's place and i'm in the separate entrance 10 metres away and 4 walls inbetween. I use to get 2 bars but foil rectified that:D
 
Also received the DuoPlus Router, not very impressed with the firmware, so I changed it to the Routertech firmware. No problems since.
