From a Telkomsa user to Telkomsa speed test :mad:

"Broadband" my @rse!

Your line speed is approximately 7.5 Kbps or 0.9 kBytes/sec
( Where kb = kilobits and kB = kiloBytes )

Results:
Below is the data used to calculate your download speed:

Download time: 543.156 seconds
Size of file: 500 KiloBytes
Estimated line speed: 7.5 (kilobits/second)
Estimated line speed: 0.9 (kiloBytes/second)

I've got a friend also in bergvliet (closer to medowridge actually) who has 384 and he gets like 45kb downloads international... must just be something wrong at the time you did the test.. happens quite frequently with ADSL i hear, me on iburst

I normally get around 45 KB too. But today it's been bad on local. Just did another test, first 4 attempts to open the page housing the test timed out after about 5 mins. Eventually I got:

Your line speed is approximately 11 Kbps or 1.4 kBytes/sec
( Where kb = kilobits and kB = kiloBytes )

Below is the data used to calculate your download speed:

* Download time: 370.126 seconds
* Size of file: 500 KiloBytes
* Estimated line speed: 11 (kilobits/second)
* Estimated line speed: 1.4 (kiloBytes/second)

But what is most interesting if the speen to Telkom! That should be instantaneous even at 1200 baud as they are my ISP. Oops, keep forgetting that norms and logic don't apply to Telkom :o

BTW mybroadband is much faster that Telkom. Go figure!
