Telkom 384 improving?

Yeah I always get a constant 320kbps download speed.

But it appears there are some 'glitches' at times, just the other day I downloaded a 1.5Meg file in what seemed to be instantaneous. Dont know how that happened, maybe it was in some sort of temp storage file or something?

Usually what happens is the file keeps downloading in the background while you look for a place to store it. By the time you find a location for it, there might only be a few seconds left so it appears almost instantaneous.
 
About what thesuspect posted earlier, the 313.6kbits/s that I get on my ADSL line, is the maximum bandwidth available to me with multiple downloads running concurrently, I usually keep it to 2 concurrent downloads , but it doesn't make any difference if I have 3+ downloads going concurrently - all that happens is that individual downloads take that much longer to finish. If I need to download something relatively large and am not prepared to wait for my deathly slow ADSL line, and I have enough MB left over on my data bundle, then I normally use HSDPA which is considerably faster.

It might have been cached by a transparent proxy that your ISP uses...
