Hi all
So its been a couple o months now, in Glenwood Durban, Allan patton road, there seems to be random DNS problems when using the TM sim. Has anyone had issues with DNS other than this area ?
Sure you could use google dns, after using google dns the throughput feels slow and only gets better when you either wait it out a couple of minutes or switch back to automatic dns. This affects everything from browsing to downloads to gaming.
downloads drop from 990-1100KBps to like 50 or 100, it still goes but really choppy.
browsing sites pops up with DNS errors on chrome but telkom site works fast, after a minute or so sites start working again when using google dns
Game pings (EU) jump from 233-244 to 450-700 or even 999+, again really choppy.
And this happens randomly during the months, not even weather dependent. It could be a clear sky at 3 am in the morning and it would just drop dead ? Signal is awesome -60dBm and the 3g dongle isn't jumping to another tower, this has been tested already , if any better probably would be eating radiation frosties for breakfast.
How would I permanently sort this out ? My router is a echolife HG532c, could i use google dns permanently or as a temp solution.
Its just like the tower gets a retard reaction and then comes right again after few minutes (5-11 minutes)
